We are seeking a dedicated Team Leader to oversee front desk operations, ensure smooth patient scheduling, and advocate for new patients. Position Overview:The Team Leader will primarily handle front desk responsibilities, manage day-to-day operations, and ensure excellent patient flow. This individual will play a crucial role in employee management, onboarding new staff, ensuring the front desk and assisting team are adequately staffed, and adhering to safety regulations. Performance will be measured through specific metrics, with bonuses contingent upon hitting defined benchmarks.
Key Responsibilities:Front Desk Management:Oversee front desk operations, ensuring a smooth flow of patient scheduling and check-ins.Act as the primary advocate for new patients, enhancing their experience from the first point of contact.Team Leadership:Manage and train front desk staff, ensuring they are fully equipped to handle their responsibilities.Develop a comprehensive training manual for new employees, incorporating photos and videos to enhance clarity and effectiveness.Oversee the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring they receive proper training and support to integrate smoothly into the team.Staffing and Scheduling:Ensure that the front desk and assisting team are adequately staffed at all times.Collaborate with management to address any staffing shortages or scheduling conflicts.Manage patient emergency call on days closed and involve the doctor on call when necessary. Performance Metrics:Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to patient flow, scheduling efficiency, and overall office operations.Implement strategies to meet or exceed specific benchmarks, with bonuses tied to performance.Day-to-Day Operations:Oversee daily office operations, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and HIPAA standards.Manage billing processes and accounts receivable reports, ensuring accurate financial tracking.Budget Management:Work with the office management team to budget spending based on collections and operational needs.Identify areas for cost-saving without compromising patient care or service quality.Continuous Improvement:Regularly update the training manual to include new procedures and best practices as they evolve.Foster a culture of continuous improvement and adherence to office rules and standards.
Qualifications:Education:High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in business or healthcare management is a plus.Valid dental assisting license and x-ray certification are required.Experience:Minimum of 5 years experience in dental assisting within a general dentistry setting; experience in other specialties is an advantage.Proven experience in a leadership or team management role.Skills:Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Proficient in dental practice management software and Microsoft Office Suite.Attributes:A desire to grow with a young, dynamic office.An appreciation for rules, compliance, and a commitment to enforcing office policies.
